GRASAG BEGINS PERIODIC DIALOGUE SERIES ON NATION DEVELOPMENT

The Graduate Students Association of Ghana (GRASAG) has launched its Periodic Dialogue Series on Nation Development, an initiative aimed at fostering discussions on critical issues affecting Ghana’s growth and progress. The inaugural event which took place on March 30, 2024 discussed the topic, Electricity Crisis, Outlook and Way forward, brought together graduate students, academics, policymakers, and industry leaders to engage in meaningful dialogue on how as country we can solve the persistent power challenges.

The dialogue series seeks to create a platform for sharing ideas, formulating policy recommendations, and encouraging active participation of graduate students in nation-building. GRASAG President, Mr. Emmanuel Owusu, emphasized the importance of these dialogues in bridging the gap between academia and policy implementation, ensuring that the voices of the youth and future leaders are heard.

The inaugural event, brought together leading experts and thought leaders to examine the root causes of Ghana’s electricity crises and explore potential solutions to pave the way for a more sustainable and reliable energy future. The distinguished speakers for the program were Dr. Gideon Ofosu-Peasah, an Energy Economist and Minerals Analyst at the Africa Centre for Energy and Environmental Sustainability, and Xatse Derick Emmanuel, a PhD Candidate of Finance and Research and Policy Analyst at the Institute for Energy Security (IES).

The Periodic Dialogue Series will be held regularly, with each session focusing on different aspects of national development. GRASAG invites all stakeholders to join these sessions and contribute to shaping the future of Ghana.
