The Institute for Democratic Governance (IDEG) invited GRASAG to participate in the dialogue to discuss youth participation in local governance and proffered reform proposals for an enhanced and transformed system ahead of the 2024 general elections.
The program which took place on December 13, 2023 was attended by H.E Emmanuel Owusu, GRASAG National President, Mr. Kelvin Kwabena Torsu, Financial Controller, Mr. Basin N. Sumaila, Organizing Coordinator and Mr. Francis Aidoo, GRASAG Spokesperson on Local Governance. The GRASAG National President, Emmanuel Owusu who has a background local governance intimated involving youth people in the local governance process was long over and that young people must be given the opportunity to participate in the decision-making process at the local level. On the proposal reforms, Mr. Owusu believes that was the need for broader stakeholder engagement to ensure its implementation.
